The ocean jasper chose the band — white and warm taupe, scattered with small amber circles that demanded an answer. The answer was a wide oxidized sterling band, pierced through with voids of varying size, darkened almost to black. Dry, precise, a little ruthless. A Brut by temperament.

Stone and setting in conversation before the ring was finished — the bubbles in the jasper rising to meet the ones cut through the metal.

The teardrop bezel sits slightly proud of the band, the polished silver edge the only bright line in an otherwise deliberately dark piece.

Wide bands fit slightly snug — this one is sized at 7.5 and wears closer to a 7.25.
